The Space Systems Sector is seeking a Maintenance Technician 3 with strong Electrical experience to join our Launch Vehicles’ Facilities team in Chandler, AZ.
Position Summary:
Position requires the knowledge and experience to understand and troubleshoot from electrical/instrumentation tools and schematics. Troubleshoot and repair typical industrial electrical equipment, i.e., perform maintenance on air compressors, HVAC equipment, DC & AC motor controllers and overhead cranes. Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on industrial refrigeration systems, install raceways, enclosures, lighting systems, wiring systems/devices, motors, pumps and related industrial electrical equipment. Capable of using and installing monitoring equipment/tools for the purpose of load study analysis on electrical distribution equipment. Capable of reading blueprints and one-line diagrams. A test will be issued to gauge experience and knowledge.
The successful Maintenance Technician:
Strong Electrical/Electrician experience is a plus
Repairs, installations, troubleshooting, and maintaining routine electrical systems and equipment.
Cuts, threads, bends, couples, and straps conduit.
Cuts wire and conduit to length. Installs, repairs, or replaces switch boxes, light bulbs, plugs and fuses.
Disassembles motors, generators, and other equipment in preparation for repair.
Inspects circuits and wiring for shielding and grounding, tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency.
Is comfortable working and performing job on ladder.
Confined space work is not a concern.
Is current with initial safety and job-related training with annual recertifications.
Additional duties: Supports maintenance team with equipment moves, event setups and other misc. building maintenance functions.
Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
US Citizenship
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
Experience with electrical equipment, refrigeration systems, and/or lighting systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent work ethic and ambition.
Excellent in prioritizing and adjusting tasks accordingly.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment and building malfunctions.
Experience reading blueprints and one-line diagrams.
Preferred Qualifications
Active DoD Security clearance
Electrical Construction & Main training through technical trade school or military technical school.
Five years of industrial or heavy commercial experience.
Collaborate in a team environment.
Ability to relay and receive information.
Understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
Perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours.
Work in external environment conditions.
Move and lift tools and equipment associated with job requirements in a safe manner.
Safety is #1 mentality.
Follow PPE guidelines.
Comfortable working areas which could cause various phobias due to height or closed spaces.
