There is currently an opening for a Maintenance Carpenter 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected candidate will report to the Facilities Manager and will support building needs and some maintenance activities. This position falls under one of Northrop Grumman's Strategic Business Units, Sonoma Photonics, Inc. and will be located onsite in Santa Rosa, CA.
Essential Functions, Working Environment & Physical Demands:
This individual needs to be comfortable communicating and working in and around an office and industrial environment. They need to be flexible with potential priority changes throughout a single shift; work on indoor and outdoor projects, independently or on a small team. Employees are often required to be on their feet for the majority of the shift; working on multiple surfaces in various positions: standing, kneeling, or crawling in different types of spaces, including, but not limited to, roof work, or under machines. Individual must have knowledge of industrial building construction principals and typically will perform work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, tile, carpet, concrete, and experience in electrical components and installation. Able to use multi-meter, and variety of hand and power tools, and feel comfortable working in electrical panels.
This requisition may be filled at either a Maintenance Carpenter level 2 or 3
Basic Qualifications:
Maintenance Carpenter 2: High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of carpentry, painting, or building maintenance experience.
Maintenance Carpenter 3: High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of carpentry, painting, or building maintenance experience.
Experience in drywall construction and repair
Familiarity with various hardware and installation methods
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to work from heights such as on ladders and aerial work platforms
Computer literacy
Manual dexterity and mechanically inclined
Troubleshooting skills
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Forklift operator
HVAC experience
Experience with variable frequency drives
Understanding of pump and water systems
Active DoD Security clearance
