Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Module Construction Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel Program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You’ll Get To Do:
This position requires a highly motivated self-starter with preferred knowledge in large construction projects, specifically those utilizing steel/concrete composites. The candidate will be involved in assisting other NG sectors and suppliers with developing/reviewing Manufacturing Plans, Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRA), and executing EMD of a new program. The candidate will need to demonstrate exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively with varying levels of Customer, NGC, and Supplier employees and leadership.
Primary responsibilities will include providing contractor oversight and technical collaboration with internal and external personnel. Develop, maintain, and present project status reports to Program Leadership at assigned intervals. Providing technical input to construction plans and collaborates with Design Engineering on design and constructability issues. Resolve technical questions and ensure compliance/execution to the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) Deskbook, and Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) Statement of Work (SOW) requirements.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either a Principal level or Sr. Principal level.
- Level 3: 5 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years of relevant experience with Masters; 0 Years with PhD; 4 additional years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
- Level 4: 9 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years of relevant experience with Masters; 4 Years of relevant experience with PhD; 4 additional years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in large scale construction projects or facilities
- Must be able and willing to travel regularly to various contractor facilities and project locations across the U.S. as assigned, possibly on short notice.
- Demonstrated the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and/or technical drawings.
- Proficiency with computer workstations and basic software including MS Office, Adobe, SharePoint navigation, and communication programs.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Active DOD Secret Clearance or higher with completed investigation within the last 6 years
- Experience in large scale steel/concrete composite construction projects (e.g. high-rises, MILCON, etc.)
- Experience in Defense Contractor, Department of Defense and/or USACE projects
- Experience with 3D design software such as CATIA, Solidworks, Autodesk, Siemens NX or similar
- Previous experience with facility design, development, or construction environments.
- Experience in steel industry and/or fabrication
- Knowledge of construction jobsite safety requirements
- Ability to multi-task efficiently in a multi-discipline environment
