Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager of Strategic Planning 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Strategic Alignment team, which is part of the sector’s Strategy & Business Development organization. This position will be located in Falls Church, Virginia.

The person in this position will be expected to: (1) lead the coordination of sector-level investment, providing support for allocation and management decisions, and impact assessments; (2) lead initiatives to shape how the sector integrates functional strategies and manages non-financial strategic resources; (3) support sector strategy development and integration initiatives; and (4) contribute to team projects that develop and refine strategies for specific business areas and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead coordination of Non-Contractual Technical Activity (NCTA) planning and analysis to guide NCTA allocation and pressure management recommendations and facilitate review and approval of Bid & Proposal (B&P) requests
  • Collaborate with Business Management on NCTA and Capital analysis and planning
  • Develop investment impact assessments to link inputs to outcomes to get “ROI”
  • Lead functional strategy integration efforts and collaborate with functional counterparts to support management of non-financial strategic resources
  • Coordinate data gathering and analysis and prepare presentations to support strategy reviews with sector and Corporate leadership
  • Collaborate with counterparts across the sector and the company to contribute to strategy development efforts for specific business areas, campaigns and captures

 Basic Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years’ experience in strategic planning, program / enterprise integration or business development OR a Master’s degree and 5+ years’ experience
  • Experience in the Aerospace & Defense Industry
  • 3+ years’ experience in a leadership function as either a manager or a lead
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • An active DoD Secret Security Clearance (or higher)
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree or equivalent
  • Familiarity with discretionary investment in government contracting environment (independent research & development, capital expense, etc.)
  • Knowledge of NGAS portfolio, business models, structure, and programs
  • Experience in management consulting or corporate strategic planning
  • Ability to analyze a broad range of issues and think strategically to influence senior leadership and customer decision makers
  • Strong judgment/decision-making skills and political acumen
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills
  • Professional executive presence, and comfort engaging with senior executives
  • Confidence, integrity, and hands-on approach to analysis and problem-solving

Salary Range: 127800 - 191600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
