Northrop Grumman Corporate/Enterprise Services Sector is seeking a Building Maintenance Tech to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating first-class operations and maintenance efforts related to the Corporate building and other properties. The statement of work focuses on day-to-day building activities, in addition to administrative tasks, and safety functions to include operations, maintenance and repair services.

The Building Maintenance Tech includes a wide range of exciting challenges in coordinating and scheduling the maintenance/preventive maintenance required to keep the building in good order (including but not limited to repairing central plant equipment, HVAC systems, irrigation, electrical and plumbing systems), performing repairs and maintenance in plant/office facilities, machines and equipment, and testing and troubleshooting machines and equipment.

This position requires a contractor management background with strong teamwork abilities, as well as effective oral and written communication skills. In addition, the role involves an extensive knowledge and experience in the use of hand/power tools as well as a strong mechanical aptitude.

While performing the duties of the job, the successful candidate must accept accountability, ownership for buildings and provide 24x7, 365 days per year and on-call support. Additional responsibilities include developing a system on SharePoint and catalog to update facility-specific equipment reports/schedules, maintaining a presence on-site with the engineering team during weather events at the Corporate office and the hangar, having a phone and/or physical presence at the facility for equipment failure or other disasters (includes, but is not limited to equipment and power failures, loss of contracted services, storms or severe weather, and schedule conflicts), ordering tool parts and spares, and completing work orders/tickets in a timely manner.

Basic Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills and abilities listed below:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years additional education and/or related experience, or Associate’s Degree

  • Must be able to make decisions with limited supervision

  • Assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of lower level employees

  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to provide ongoing technical support in construction management

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple scheduling challenges and resource assignments as well as ongoing adjustments

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)

  • Knowledge and experience of software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Power Point.

  • Ability to identify and implement necessary changes to internal processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least 10 years related experience

  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (preferably MAXIMO) within a manufacturing or maintenance environment.

  • Experience with Traditional Maintenance Methods and Practices, Facilities Operations and Assessments, Audits

  • Possess general infrastructure knowledge in Structural Systems, Energy/ Electrical and Mechanical Systems –HVAC-Climate, Plumbing Systems, Water Systems, OSHA and Compliance, Environmental and Regulatory Requirement, Facility Life-Cycle Processes, Predictive Maintenance, RISK

  • Microsoft Office with an emphasis on excel and PowerPoint should be added to the preferred.

Salary Range: 54500 - 90900

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
