Today more than ever, we are looking for a dynamic strategist who seeks to understand the complexities of the technical talent market and can envision and drive a forward-leaning future for employee attraction, development and retention. 

As a talent market strategist, you love conducting primary research and staying up-to-date with emerging talent trends across industries. You thrive on opportunities to challenge the status quo and are constantly asking “What should we be offering to employees?” to stay ahead of competitors and create a truly differentiated employee value proposition.  You excel in creating comprehensive strategies rooted in both competitive intelligence and a deep understanding of business needs.  You’re also an outstanding storyteller that is comfortable presenting to an executive audience.  If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you!

This position can be filled at the Senior Principal Strategic Planner (A04), or Staff Strategic Planner level (A05). Preferred location of the position is Falls Church, VA, but we will also consider 100% remote/telecommuter candidates, within driving distance of preferred location for in person meetings as necessary.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, teammates, and business leaders to identify challenges and empower organizations with market and industry analysis

  • Scan and maintain surveillance over the external talent market, identifying trends and opportunities

  • Create and maintain artifacts synthesizing the employee value propositions and talent strategies of key competitors

  • Stay informed of industry, talent competitor, and emerging trends related to employee experience

  • Evaluate Northrop Grumman’s people strategy compared to competitors, uncovering ways to improve outcomes across the business

  • Perform ad hoc analysis to provide competitive research for HR initiatives

  • Distill research findings into a compelling story with actionable insights

  • Clearly communicate insights and recommendations to executive audiences

Basic Qualifications:

  • Senior Principal Level: Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 10 years of relevant experience or master’s degree in a related field with 8 years of relevant experience or PhD with 5 years of relevant experience

  • Staff Level: Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 15 years of relevant experience or master’s degree in a related field with 13 years of relevant experience or PhD with 10 years of relevant experience

  • Experience conducting competitive intelligence research (or related business/HR research) using diverse sources and ethical collection techniques

  • Experience collaborating on projects with multiple teams, managing relationships, and communicating findings to audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of formal Competitive Intelligence training and/or certification (e.g., ACI)

  • Experience with people analytics and/or the appropriate handling of confidential data

Salary Range: $103,900 USD - $171,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $129,000 USD - $212,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
