Key Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Executive Program Development, the Leadership Development Specialist is responsible for applying instructional design models and approaches to design, develop, maintain and evaluate leadership development content and programs, and differentiated talent cohort programs for NG leaders.
• Leverage the instructional design (ISD) process to understand the business needs, develop learning objectives a, deliver needs assessment, design, program and content development, work with Subject Matter Experts, implement leadership programs and evaluate final deliverables.

• Conduct research to identify best practices and industry trends related to talent and leadership development including: leadership trends, program content, learning theory, high-potential development, program design and delivery, techniques and leadership development vendors.

• Support the delivery and facilitation of leadership programs to include: workshops, coaching, presentations, group discussions and leadership forums delivered in-person and virtually.

• Develop presentations, visual aids, status reports and spreadsheets (PowerPoint, Excel and Word) applying creativity and graphic design skills in support of preparation and execution of leadership development content and programs.

• Assist with the authoring and distribution of internal communications related to NG leadership development programs.

• Collaborate with internal (sector teams) and external stakeholders (early career to executive level) to enhance overall program learning impact.

• Support the full cycle of NG leadership program execution through internal and external partnerships.


Basic Qualifications:

• 6 years’ work experience with Bachelors; or 4 year work experience with Masters; experience should be in learning and development, talent development, human resources, instructional design or related discipline

• Advanced proficiency and experience in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Publisher), Adobe Pro, and web-based collaborative platform (e.g., SharePoint)

• Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience (certificate or degree) as an Instructional Designer (ISD) in a corporate learning/training organization focused on analysis, design and development of leadership development curriculums and course materials utilizing multiple delivery modalities

• Expertise in the development of virtual, classroom and blended learning training, adult learning methodologies, and facilitation for senior-level audiences

• Working knowledge of adult learning and leadership development principles

• Demonstrated ability and proven experience communicating and presenting to all levels of management including senior executives
• Prior experience as an HR business partner or other HR COE roles
• Experience in the aerospace and defense industry


Salary Range: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
