This position will be located in Falls Church, VA. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Corporate Media & Public Relations Team. The selected candidate will work together with a team of communicators in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate has a passion for learning and while gaining career experience and exposure. Our Corporate Media & Public Relations team is responsible for all external media and public relations strategies. This team also runs the company News Bureau and is responsible for editing, publishing and distributing company news to external audiences. As an intern, you’ll participate in a summer internship program to develop competencies in a variety of Media Relations, Public Relations and Communications specializations that may include: Roles and Responsibilities •Creates and distributes daily news clips and other news products for employees and company leadership    •Monitors NGC and industry news; supports the development of coverage and media analysis reports •Assist the team in editing news releases, feature stories and other media content as needed •Supports the Corporate Media Relations team on other projects, as needed     CAMPUSJOBS

Basic Qualifications: A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must: •Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2021. •Be majoring in journalism, media relations, public relations, or other communications/related field •Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile) •Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2021 •Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) •Possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills •Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint and OneDrive •Outstanding writing skills and experience with Associated Press style •Excellent time management skills; highly organized and detail-oriented
Preferred Qualifications: •Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular). •Good presentation and writing/communication skills. •Self-motivated, willing to learn, and interested in working in a team environment.
