Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has current job openings for Flight Inspectors 3/4 located at either Palmdale, CA/ Edwards AFB, CA

This Inspector's duties include:

  • Inspecting demonstrator and production aircraft systems, equipment and parts for operation and conformance to government and company standards and specifications.
  • Inspecting the installation and operation of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, oil, and emergency systems and other parts and equipment of aircraft.
  • Performing preflight and post-flight inspections in accordance with standard procedure on flight-proven aircraft.
  • Approving non-flight-proven aircraft for flight. Inspects, adjustments, repairs, or modifications made on the aircraft.
  • Monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Basic Qualifications Level 3;

  • High School diploma with at least 6 years experience in aerospace with emphasis in aircraft manufacturing and quality assurance. Or an Associate’s degree with at least 2 years in aerospace with emphasis in aircraft manufacturing and quality assurance.
  • Must be capable of performing mechanical measurement, test witness, processing of nonconforming material into the MRB and verification of reworked or repaired product.
  • Must have active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to starting
  • Must be able to pass medical/respiratory exams.

Basic Qualifications Level 4;

  • High School diploma with at least 8 years experience in aerospace with emphasis in aircraft manufacturing and quality assurance. Or an Associate’s degree with at least 4 years in aerospace with emphasis in aircraft manufacturing and quality assurance.
  • Must be capable of performing mechanical measurement, test witness, processing of nonconforming material into the MRB and verification of reworked or repaired product.
  • Must have active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to starting
  • Must be able to pass medical/respiratory exams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12+ years experience working with production, flight test, and engineering.
  • An A&P license is a plus.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to all levels of leadership.
Salary Range: $67,100 - $111,900
Salary Range 2: $79,800 - $133,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
