Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking an SCA Computer Systems Analyst 3 to join our growing team of diverse professionals at Fort Hood, in Texas.  The selected candidate will support network devices on the Mission Training Complex (MTC) Risk Management Framework (RMF) backbone and perform information assurance technical (IAT) II duties for all MTC buildings.


  • Builds, maintains, configures, updates Internetwork Operating System (IOS) and patches, applies Information Assurance Vulnerability Managements (IAVMS) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on network devices, which include Infrastructure Routers, Perimeter Routers, Layer 3 Switches, Call Manager, Layer 2 Switches, Firewalls, Core Switches, and Time Servers

  • Configures and loads Communications Security (COMSEC) keys on encryption devices, such as KG175-D

  • Updates and maintains documentation for network devices

  • Downloads, applies, and maintains STIG checklists

  • Performs backups for network configurations

  • Performs Bi-Weekly (every two weeks) and Monthly checks on network devices

  • Performs semi-annual maintenance checks on network devices

  • Troubleshoots hardware and networking problems

  • Researches network device and configuration issues

  • Works with other MTC sections to set up configuration training changes and simulation network

  • Invokes warranties, researches repair parts, and fills out purchase requests for parts

  • Escorts Vendor repair personnel when visiting MTC buildings for repairs

  • Supports MTC, units, and other organizations during exercises

  • Provides exercise network support

  • Works with units and other organizations to configure network for exercises by adding subnets for exercise, updating CISCO ASA firewall module for the exercise, and running fiber and CAT5/6 cables for the exercise and update MTC documentation

  • Assists units and other organizations with installation of network devices, server(s), and system connections

  • Helps units with Tactical Operations Center Inter-Communication System (TOCNET) Enhanced Micro Central Switching Unit (eMCSU) connections during exercises

  • Extends MTC networks for exercises, when needed

  • Attends technical working group exercise meetings

  • Assists Spoke sites (Fort Bliss, Fort Carson, Fort Riley, and Fort Sill), with Network questions, which will include travel

  • Escorts Department of Public Works (DPW) facility personnel in secure rooms for maintenance, repairs, and Computer Room Air Conditioner (CRAC) unit filter replacements

  • Works with Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Information System Security Officer (ISSO) on U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC), Installation Management Command (IMCOM), and Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS) projects

  • Works with the Security Manager, ISSM, and ISSO to ensure Command Cyber Readiness Inspection (CCRI) standards are followed

  • Works with the Security Manager and Specialist to ensure all physical security measures are met

Basic Qualifications:

  • One of the following:

    • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of networking experience

    • Associate’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of networking experience

    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1 year of networking experience

  • Must have administrative knowledge of Microsoft Server 2016/2019, Windows 10, Redhat Linux, and VMware

  • Must be able to obtain certificate of training for Microsoft Server 2016/2019, Windows 10, Redhat Linux, and VMware (this can be done on an approved Army site)

  • Must be able to obtain Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or certificate of training (this can be done on an approved Army site)

  • Must have knowledge of Solarwinds

  • Must have knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF)

  • Employee will frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds around the worksite

  • Ability to work with little to no supervision on assigned tasks

  • Must have CompTIA Security+ CE

  • Must hold a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

  • Must be able to support shifts that occur outside normal working hours to support 24/7 operations during exercise events that may be more than 40 hours per week

  • Must be able to work on-site at Fort Hood in Texas

  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 50% of the time)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hold additional CompTIA certifications Network+ and A+

  • Valid CCNA

  • Microsoft Server certifications

Salary Range: $35 USD - $35 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
