Northrop Grumman is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as Principal Military Trainer/OG-B (Aviation Analyst). The location of this position is at Fort Leavenworth, KS. The Principal Military Trainer/OG-B (Aviation Analyst) will serve as a Warfighting Function (WFF) (Aviation) subject matter expert, and support multifunctional area cell lead for a team of contractors supporting the Army’s Mission Command Training Program (MCTP). Responsibilities: Serves as the principal contractor Aviation advisor to military personnel on the Warfighter Simulation (WARSIM) and WFF specific simulation processes and procedures. Enforces realism of exercise through role playing and conflict adjudication and resolution. Supervise the work cell mission of translating training audience operations and plans in to simulation inputs/taskings and scripting requirements. Advise military observer coach/trainers in translating training unit observations into After Action Review products. Train and support work cell augmentees in reporting, role playing elements subordinate to the training audience. Ensure that the work cells WFF units/assets are simulated IAW current doctrine and unit SOP. Supports the After Action Review (AAR) process by communicating significant events using the Workstation Reporting System (WRS). When required, assists in exercise design and scenario development. When required assists in pre-exercise planning by conducting Site Surveys and participating in planning conferences. Assists in the development, doctrinal updating and custodianship of Aviation related Academics/Mission Command Training seminar classes. Assists in Developing exercise plans, coordinating internal and external resources, monitoring planning progress and timelines, and preparing contract deliverables items. Assists as required in the development and writing of HICOM orders for Corps and Division exercises. Assists as required in the development of the simulation training POI. Assists as required as a WFF SME for the development of the simulation Rules and Workarounds book for Aviation specific issues. Conducts as required certification training in his/her assigned WFF. Assists as needed in maintaining the WARSIM WFF database.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 4 years’ experience

  • Minimum Military Education Level (MEL) 4 CGSC or Equivalent; graduate of a related Advance Course

  • Familiar with current Army and Joint Doctrine

  • Must have experience as a Rotary Wing Pilot, Forward Air Controller (FAC), or Air Liaison Officer (ALO)

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher or be eligible to obtain

  • Must have experience as either a Field grade officer, Chief Warrant Officer 4, Sergeants Major or its equivalent in any of the U.S. Armed Forces

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree with 4 years’ experience

  • Brigade or higher staff officer experience

  • Have an Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher


Salary Range: 65664 - 98496

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
