Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Military Trainer - Work Cell Instructor Controller (WIC) to join our growing team of diverse professionals at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas with our Mission Command Training Program (MCTP).  MCTP trains Army Corps, Divisions, and Brigades in the Army Mission Command Systems and Operations Process. This individual serves as a Warfighting Function (WfF) subject matter expert, and supports multifunctional area as the cell lead for a team of contractors supporting the Army’s Mission Command Training Program (MCTP).

Responsibilities:

  • Trains military personnel on the Warfighter Simulation (WARSIM) and WfF specific simulation processes and procedures

  • Enforces realism of exercise through roleplaying and conflict adjudication and resolution

  • Supervise the work cell mission of translating training audience operations and plans in to simulation inputs/tasking’s and scripting requirements

  • Train and support work cell augmentees in reporting, role playing elements subordinate to the training audience

  • Ensure that the work cells WfF units/assets are simulated IAW current doctrine and unit SOP

  • Supports the After Action Review (AAR) process by communication significant events using the Workstation Reporting System (WRS)

  • When required, assists in exercise design and scenario development

  • When required assists in the pre-exercise planning by conducting Site Surveys and participating in planning conferences

  • Assists in Developing exercise plans, coordinating internal and external resources, monitoring planning progress and timelines, and preparing contract deliverables items

  • Acts as required as the Assistant POC for various administrative additional duty positions. Maintains awareness and understanding of current and emerging Army & Joint doctrine for Army Brigades, Divisions, and Corps

Basic Qualifications:

  • One of the following:

    • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of professional leadership experience

    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of professional leadership experience

    • Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional leadership experience

  • Minimum Military Education Level (MEL) 4 CGSC or Equivalent; graduate of a related Advance Course

  • Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance or higher

  • Familiarity with current army and Joint Doctrine

  • Be physically capable of travel to both CONUS and OCONUS military installations (up to 25% of the time) and perform duty for up to twelve hours for shifts during WFX exercises

  • Must be able to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree

  • Brigade or higher staff officer experience

  • Have an active Secret clearance


Salary Range: $65,800 USD - $98,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
