Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking an MCTP Subject Matter Expert (SME) Scheduler to join our growing team of diverse professionals at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas.  The Mission Command Training Program’s (MCTP) mission is training Corps, Division, and Brigade Staffs by replicating a complex training environment.  The Unified Action Partners Cell (UAP) contributes to MCTP mission success by developing challenging UAP / IA scenarios, utilizing SMEs and Part Time On Call (PTOC) Contractors.  SMEs possess unique skill sets from other United States Government Departments and Agencies not normally maintained within the Army.


  • Leverages U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) military experience with Interagency / Joint assignments

  • Performs the duties of locating, contacting, briefing, and preparing correspondence and clearance documents in support of, and scheduling, SMEs and PTOCs

  • Works in the UAPC / Interagency (IA) Team directly for the UAPC Team Lead

  • Recruits SMEs and PTOCs as necessary

  • Develops Statements of Work (SOW) and Single / Sole Source Justifications (SSJs)

  • Coordinates the hiring of SMEs through a subcontractor, and schedules SMEs for War Fighter Exercises (WFXs) and other events / requirements as directed

  • Works with the UAPC Storyline Manager / Coordinator to generate storylines, researches the Operational Environment (OE), and performs other tasks as necessary to produce successful and believable story lines

  • Creates synergy with SMEs and PTOCs in a realistic training environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • One of the following:

    • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of professional leadership experience

    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of professional leadership experience

    • Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional leadership experience

  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance

  • DoD Military Experience / U.S. Department of State experience

  • Familiar with current Army doctrine

  • Excellent Organizational Skills

  • Proficient With MS Office Suite of Software; (PowerPoint / Word / Excel / MS Teams / Adobe Acrobat Pro)

  • Ability to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas

  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Already possess a DoD Secret security clearance

  • MEL4-CGSC Equivalent

  • Previous Experience in Computer Assisted Simulation Training.

  • Graduate degree

  • Brigade or higher staff officer experience

  • Relevant U.S. Government experience

Salary Range: $65,800 USD - $98,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
