This newly created position offers the opportunity to work on an exciting space flight program, specifically the Chariot program in the Space Systems Sector.

You will need to have familiarity with Astrodynamics (either by education or experience).  The primary job requirement is to support ground segment software development driven by the program’s mission enabling functions.  You will need to be able to understand the complex mission-enabling functions on the Space Vehicle sufficiently to translate this capability to ground software tools that will enable mission operations to properly plan and execute the mission. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in an Engineering or related field plus 5 years experience in spacecraft mission analysis, orbital analysis, spacecraft systems engineering, and/or software development.
  • Experience in space system testing, evaluation and verification (flight and ground testing)
  • Experience with system engineering requirement tools (Cradle, CORE or DOORS) and processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current or active Top Secret / SCI clearance
  • Proficiency with software development in Python, Matlab, or C++
  • Experience in requirements development and management processes
  • Experience in development and maintenance of interface control documents and related processes
  • Experience in any of the following areas is also desired:  orbital mechanics, orbital debris modeling, spacecraft attitude control, power systems and modeling, avionics or digital electronics design, risk analysis, optics, communications, rocket propulsion, thermal engineering, or spacecraft integration and testing

Salary Range: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
