The Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Division is a strategic partner specializing in commercial and classified partnerships with the design, delivery, operation and sustainment of satellites and human spacecraft.  We support science and space exploration through our various partnerships, including NASA’s Artemis program with the goal to return humans to the Moon in 2024 and the TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite) program that has discovered more than twenty confirmed planets.  Recognized as an industry leader, we also develop highly specialized space and satellite components

Job Responsibilities Develops Test Procedures and Performs Functional Testing on Satellites and Electronic Hardware. • Job Knowledge/Technical Skills - Broad understanding and application of company electrical engineering technical standards. • Broad technical expertise and working knowledge of other related disciplines. Prepares and presents electrical engineering materials for Requirements and Design Reviews. • Problem Solving/Innovation - With minimal guidance, studies basic design concepts and criteria for more complex problems. Applies electrical engineering principles to adapt or improve upon heritage features from previous successful designs of a similar nature. • Liaison - Actively and effectively participates and contributes in a positive manner. • Makes an extra effort to provide quality internal and external customer service. Constantly seeks new sources of information and provides information necessary to meet customer needs.

• Requirements Derivation/ Test Development - Develop and oversee test programs as needed to evaluate components and systems. • Supports and leads the testing and/or evaluation/validation of an electrical component, subsystem, or system analytical model or actual system implementation. • Risk and Uncertainty Quantification - Evaluate, with supervision, uncertainty and risks associated with requirements and designs. • Analysis and Design - Based on specific stated objectives, performs analysis, design, or test of one or more complex designs, components, or functional systems of company products. • Use advanced analytical and product design engineering software tools. Supports trade studies for component or system level designs. • Participates in the creation of and manages changes to circuit, component, or system level design or analytical models under direction and support of more experienced engineers. • Peer Review/Oversight - Provides formal peer review of simple engineering designs or analyses for less experienced engineers. • Involvement in national or international engineering association. • Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. • Software development skills, including analysis, design, implementation, and debugging. • Test procedure and script development and support for satellite level systems

Qualifications -

Basic Qualifications: These positions will be filled at either level and are fully funded

  • U.S Citizenship required and must have an active in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance SCI access with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access as required.
  • Electrical, Electronic, or Software Testing experience is required.
  • Level 2: Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 2 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in STEM with 0 years of related experience
  • Level 3: Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in STEM with 3 years of related experience
  • Level 4: Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 9 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in STEM with 7 years of related experience
  • Additional leveling positions not listed on requisition will also be considered
  • Relocation assistance may be available

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current or recent SCI or SAR/SAP access
  • Experience working in a Test Engineering environment
  • Experience with Python, Perl, Bash and Labview.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Aerospace industry experience

Space System





Salary Range: $104,025 USD - $128,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $129,010 USD - $157,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
