Northrop Grumman SSSD has an opening for a Manager Programs 3 – SSSD Engineering Site Liaison to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Gilbert, Arizona, and will report to the SSSD Engineering Director of Integration and Operations.

In this position, the SSSD Engineering Site Liaison will be the main focal point for SSSD Engineering employees in Gilbert, Arizona, driving and reinforcing a welcoming, enriching, and inclusive workplace culture. The SSSD Engineering footprint is anticipated to grow from ~60 EP to 500 over the course of multiple years. This leader will be expected to collaborate effectively and partner across organizations including Engineering Leadership, Human Resources/Talent Acquisition, and TSSD Site Operations and Facilities to develop, implement, communicate, and oversee all related activities associated with SSSD Engineering at the site. The Site Liaison will also focus on employee and workplace projects and programs to support employee engagement, connection, growth and retention.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate with Engineering Leadership and TSSD Site Operations to ensure effective planning, communication, collaboration and efficient functional engineering operations across the site.

  • Act as a conduit to cross-discipline Department Managers and collaborate to define strategies that enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Lead facilitation of Engineering hiring and onboarding; launch and facilitate a peer Navigators program to ensure employee volunteers are appropriately paired with new hires and resources to provide engaging and welcoming experience

  • Collaborate across SSSD Space Park functions, business areas along with the broader NG Operations organizations ensuring strong coordination at the SSSD level.

  • Responsible for supporting local hiring initiatives across Engineering with interface to Talent Acquisition

  • Ensure necessary tools and computing resource needs are provided and coordinated with IT.

  • Prepare briefings on status/progress and processes at the Site; present in the appropriate cadences to ensure stakeholder awareness among Executive leadership.

  • Support DE&I and ERG initiatives and events to nurture and foster a diverse and inclusive environment

  • Help develop and shape additional programs/processes to improve the overall Employee Experience

  • Partner with key stakeholders to plan, communicate and execute site-wide engagement and appreciation events

  • Drive Digital Transformation initiatives.

  • Coordinate SSSD physical space/footprint options for near term accommodations and long term growth, including security, and engineering lab considerations

A successful candidate will possess these qualifications:

  • Detailed and team oriented with demonstrated leadership and organization skills

  • Demonstrated experience in:

    • Collaborating across multiple stakeholders to bring forward a consolidated objective

    • Leading through a program or project start-up and effectively rolling out and managing change

    • Acting with a sense of urgency and accountability; taking ownership of tasks and strategic direction

    • Effectively developing business cases, briefings and communication – both written and verbal – at a senior leadership level to inform and drive decisions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of functional management, program management, project management, engineering, and/or management experience.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.

  • Proven ability to lead a high performing team with evidence of being able to create trusted relationships, and an inclusive work environment that attracts, retain and inspire diverse and engaged teams.

  • Effectively develop business cases, briefings and communication – both written and verbal – at a senior leadership level to inform and drive decisions.

  • Experience with effective change management 

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active in-scope DoD TS/SCI clearance.

  • Experience leading day-to-day operations in large functional organization or complex programs, with proven collaboration and coordination skills across internal and external stakeholder organizations

  • Ability to manage communications with stakeholders through organized processes to ensure that program information is defined, collected, shared, and understood in a manner that effectively meets program and stakeholder needs.


Salary Range: $147,700 USD - $221,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
