Northrop Grumman is looking for a Principal Material Program Manager (level 3) that is responsible and accountable for the execution of material schedule and budget for the Advanced Weapons Business Unit. The Material Program Manager (MPM) is a unique position that requires strategic thinking as well as tactical execution allowing an individual to make immediate tangible impacts. A successful MPM can work with minimal supervision to solve complex problems to ensure both short term and long term success of their respective program. An MPM would need to possess strong hard skills to execute plans to completion, as well as soft skills to appropriately work with multiple disciplines, and communicate challenges to many stakeholders. It is a rare position to stretch your skillsets and test your abilities making real impact on the organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrated ability in EVMS (earned value management system)
- Financial responsibilities including EAC’s, material sales forecasting, accruals, and cost account management (CAM)
- Ability to confidently present and represent Northrop Grumman Global Supply Chain in Program Management Reviews, leadership briefings, and customer briefings
- Ability to creatively solve complex supply chain problems with data driven strategies
- Demonstrated aptitude in identified Risks and Opportunities to the program
- Consistently work on supply and demand to proactively identify gaps to eliminate them
- Escalate critical material shortages immediately upon identification and own efforts to resolve them
- Ability to resolve short term problems while maintaining long term success of the program
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced development environment
- Implement solutions to overcome current & future material shortages
- Coordinate and optimize delivery schedules with critical Suppliers
- Challenge business impediments to excellence and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated ability to lead others through dynamic and fluid environments
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED AND a minimum of ten (10) years of supply chain planning experience; OR a Bachelor's degree and six (6) years supply chain planning experience; OR a Master's degree and four (4) years supply chain planning experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government issued Secret clearance; US citizenship is required
- Intermediate user with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Project, Excel and PowerPoint
- Material Program Management and/or Supply Chain Management experience working on prime defense programs
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong Program and Budget Management skills
Desired Experience
- Deltek Costpoint experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Understanding of Government Procurement processes and regulations
- Lean and Six Sigma Training and/or Certification desired
- Experience leading and support prime proposal efforts
- Expert excel ability including pivot tables, macros, and VBA
