Our team has an opening for a Manager Subcontract Programs 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is in Promontory, Utah.
Job Description:
Responsible for major subcontractors or major subcontracted systems for rubber and insulation material used in production of solid rocket motors.
Directs and manages all cost, schedule and technical performance requirements that are levied on the subcontractor or the product family and is required to ensure performance and support of the contract milestones of the system.
Acts as the main focal point to the subcontractor; briefs executive management and customer on the status and issues affecting performance or cost.
Responsible for and directs all phases of the subcontract from initiation of the business case for make or buy decisions through requests for proposals, subcontract management plans, negotiation strategy, and cost accountability.
Makes decisions affecting the performance of the subcontractor.
Establishes milestone objectives and manages performance to committed schedules and contractual specifications.
Leads team composed of engineers, quality, and procurement personnel.
Manages performance of subcontracts, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures.
In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.
Coordinates and collaborates with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program, and end-users.
Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations.
In coordination with subcontract specialists, forecasts, and reviews supplier payment as needed.
Must be able to work independently and have strong organizational skills.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience in subcontracts, contracts, or business/project management (4+ years with master’s degree). Or, in lieu of a degree, 10+ years of relevant experience in subcontracts.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
Demonstrated interpersonal and people leadership skills; ability to leverage professional relationships.
Proven multitasking ability; resilience when faced with multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
Knowledge of the government acquisition process with a strong knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency supplements, such as Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS), NASA (NFS).
Preferred Qualification:
Master’s degree in supply chain, business, or finance preferred.
Negotiation skills and experience with high-dollar contracts.
Self-Starter with problem solving skills.
Detail oriented, strategic thinking, and analytical.
Ability to mentor other subcontract professionals of varying levels of experience.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off
