Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Propulsion Systems, is recruiting for a Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Programs who will primarily be responsible for managing a team of material program managers that oversee all material requirements for specific solid rocket motor propulsion programs.
Responsibilities:
Leads a team of supply chain professionals that act as the main focal point for program management for the entire supply chain organization and coordinates cross-functionally to ensure that all supply chain commitments are met
Develops tools, defines expectations, and role definitions for material program manager job function and train, develop, and hold staff accountable to those standards
Provides guidance and leadership oversight in developing mitigation plans that are developed and executed to address any programmatic risks related to suppliers
Develops material strategies to support all phases of the business acquisition process through program execution
Provide leadership oversight and guidance in supporting proposals and developing sourcing strategies that effectively support the business to be competitive in pursuing new business
Responsible to ensure execution of material budgets, forecasting, and schedule performance
Briefs program and supply chain leadership on the status of issues and execution of subcontracts for responsible programs
Lead and drive initiatives to reduce cost and improve efficiency
Work cohesively with leaders in other disciplines such as engineering, operations, quality, and other personnel to manage material performance and ensure delivery of hardware to support production needs
Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
10+ years’ experience in purchasing, program management, sales, contracts, or related field
Prior experience leading a team, project, or process; ability to mentor and motivate others to meet complex objectives
Ability to work high level strategic initiatives that impact long-term business goals and also urgent requirements to support day to day operations
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate feedback in a manner that fosters collaboration, trust, and builds positive relationships
Experience and comfort level working and supporting Earned Value Management requirements
Ability to work in an integrated team environment and influence change
Skilled and comfortable communicating and interfacing with high level leadership
Knowledge and experience in government contracting requirements and regulations (e.g. FAR, DFARS, ITAR, etc.)
Skill set and ability to work through others to influence change and drive objectives
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
Basic Requirements
Attainment of one of the following years of experience in Supply Chain Management or Engineering:
8 years' experience with a Master’s Degree in a Business and/or STEM (Science, Technology Engineering or Mathematics)
10 years' experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in a Business and/or STEM (Science, Technology Engineering or Mathematics)
14 years' experience no degree
US citizenship required. Must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Knowledge of MS Office, MS Project and MS Excel
Preferred Requirements
Master of Business Administration
Capability to read technical drawings and documents
General understanding of hardware and material requirements for solid rocket motors
Experience developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies
Experience implementing and executing material program plans to meet program objectives
Knowledge and experience working with MRP/ERP systems
Ability to communicate complex technical information internal customers

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off
