We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Software Engineer or a Sr. Principal Software Engineer based out of Goleta, CA.

What You’ll get to Do:

Join our Goleta, CA Team! While supporting the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP), you’ll get to:

  • Work in an Agile environment as part of a scrum team
  • Resolve software and system defects
  • Collaborate with our customer, internal NG sites and other engineering disciplines
  • Contribute to peer reviews, critical milestone reviews, and technical interchange meetings
  • Provide training to our customer
  • Tools Utilized include various VM/CM tools such as Rational ClearCase, JIRA, Rhapsody/UML for design, MySql, C++, Windows, and LINUX
  • Work on design, development, and integration in full life cycle software system development
  • Support the design and development of SEWIP software in support of our Navy Customer

This position may be filled as a Principal Software Engineer or a Sr. Principal Software Engineer

Basic Qualifications for Principal Software Engineer:

  • BS degree with 5 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience; Or PHD with 0 years of experience
  • Must have C++ embedded software experience
  • Knowledge of object-oriented development
  • Ability to function as a member of an integrated team
  • CLEARANCE: Candidate must currently have an Interim or Active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance prior to start date.  (If Interim Secret, Candidate must be able to obtain full Secret Clearance once started)

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Software Engineer:

  • BS degree with 9 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 7 years of experience; Or PHD with 4 years of experience
  • Must have C++ embedded software experience
  • Knowledge of object-oriented development
  • Ability to function as a member of an integrated team
  • CLEARANCE: Candidate must currently have an Interim or Active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance prior to start date.  (If Interim Secret, Candidate must be able to obtain full Secret Clearance once started)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Good working knowledge of RF / Radar / Electronic Warfare
  • Experience with VM/CM tools such as Rational ClearCase, JIRA, Rhapsody/UML for design, MySql, Windows, and LINUX.

Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD
Salary Range 2: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
