NGC is seeking a Mission Planning Manager 1 or 2 in Grand Forks, AFB and will oversee a team of 5 mission planners supporting USAF GH mission planning. This will be a dual role where the manager will also be operating as a mission planner for operational mission planning requirements.

Provides mission planning, integration, support services and flight or ground operations services for payloads. Responsible for ensuring all cost, schedule and technical requirements of assigned mission and projects are coordinated, prepared and accurate. Acts as the central point of contact for the Science Team, government customer, and Program Office relating to all assigned missions and projects. Coordinates execution of all design, fabrication, test, and field operations. Establishes and ensures adherence to launch procedures to meet mission success.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Level 1: Bachelor of Science and 7 plus years of experience in military aviation operations OR Masters of Science and 5 plus years of experience in military aviation operations or In lieu of formal education, 10 plus years of aviation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Level 2: Bachelor of Science and 10 plus years of experience in military aviation operations OR Masters of Science and 8 plus years of experience in military aviation operations or In lieu of formal education, 15 plus years of aviation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Mission planning, weather, aircraft operations, aircraft performance, airfield suitability, and Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) analysis

  • Proficient with Air Force Mission Support System (AFMSS) mission planning software, Portable Flight Planning Software (PFPS), to include Combat Flight Planning Software (CFPS) and FalconView, and/or Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS)

  • Must be a US Citizen with Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SCI Level Clearance

  • Graduate of a flight training program (previous military flight training preferred) and a former USAF/USN/USA rated aviator

  • 8 years of military aviation experience as a rated pilot, navigator, or weapons systems operator

  • At least 3 years of planning/executing military ISR missions from a deployed location

  • Bachelors of Science in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering

Salary Range: $85,400 USD - $128,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $0 USD - $15,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
