Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems is seeking a Principal Ground Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Houston, TX and will support Tactical Space Systems Division Human Exploration Programs.

The selected candidate will support ground system installation and integration, testing, software deployment, operations, and troubleshooting NASA programs. The position will require some on-site support at Johnson Space Center. 

The successful candidate will perform duties such as:

  • Work on systems administration related issues with hardware and software for different ground system mission environments.

  • Support deployment of custom software solutions integrating COTS and developed software.

  • Work with mid and senior level customers on Ground Systems capabilities, interfaces, and issues.

  • This position will be based in Houston, TX. Relocation assistance may be available.

  • This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the years of experience you bring.

  • Work as a crewmember on Missions. Crew support will require working swing and mid shifts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Science; 3 years with a Masters Degree

  • Must be a US citizen and be able to pass a NACI background investigation

  • CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent) DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Certification

  • Previous experience working with NASA ground engineering teams

  • Prior Space Operations experience

  • Able to brief senior level managers on ground systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with OpenStack

  • Experience in Shell scripting – bash, ruby, perl

  • Experience with VMWare

  • Experience with Cisco Networking equipment

  • Ability to obtain Government SSBI.

Salary Range: $87,800 USD - $131,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
