Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems is searching for a Process Improvement Analyst as part of the iReturn program in Huntsville, AL.

The qualified applicant will join an iReturn cohort of employees re-entering the workforce after a career break of at least two years. This cohort will receive special on-boarding designed to provide an effective re-entry into the workforce. iReturn provides experienced professionals with a 12-week "returnship" to prepare for a full-time career in one of several fields at Northrop Grumman through training, professional development and networking opportunities. Qualified applicants will join a cohort of employees returning to the workforce after a 2+ career break for this "returnship" program that focuses on giving you a seamless transition back into the workforce. This cohort program will prepare candidates for an effective re-entry into the workforce. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be eligible for full-time roles with the company.

Position Overview:  

Responsibilities will include working with internal stakeholders to identify, prioritize and lead/facilitate improvement efforts resulting in measurable operational efficiencies. You will be responsible for primary support of the Huntsville, AL locations but will work liaise with and provide secondary support to the Colorado Springs, CO Process Improvement Analyst.

Essential Functions:  

  • Lead/facilitate integrated, multi-disciplined continuous improvement projects that support the sector’s strategic direction
  • Engage in targeted activities with program teams at the request of the leadership
  • Coach/mentor improvement teams to develops solutions to problems of varying complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity and creativity
  • Establish performance metrics to measure and sustain improvements
  • Provide coaching, training and consultation in Six-Sigma and Lean principles to colleagues pursuing certification
  • Demonstrate success in leading diverse cross functional teams to higher performance
  • Maintain positive working relationships with peers, leadership, and team members when interacting on difficult systematic problems
  • Communicate improvement progress and issues through visual, verbal, and written methods to stakeholders and business leaders
  • Foster a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.
  • The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience
  • Organize, prioritize and self-manage a variety of improvement activities experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Tableau and/or Power BI, SharePoint and Jira/Azure DevOps
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Six-Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time.
  • Ability to Obtain a D.O.D issued clearance, U.S. Citizenship is required. An Active clearance is not required prior to starting in this role.
  • Career Break of a minimum of 2 years required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Mission Assurance or Program Management
  • DoD background in Space, Defense and/or IT
  • Proficiency in:
  • Data/statistical analysis
  • Microsoft Office products
  • Tableau and/or Power BI for data analytics
  • SharePoint
  • Azure DevOps and/or Jira
  • A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
