Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal/Sr. Principal Software Engineer based out of Huntsville, Alabama on the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Battle Command System (IBCS) Poland contract, a US Army foreign military sale to Poland for its medium-range air and missile defense program. IBCS integrates disparate radars and weapons to construct a far more effective IAMD enterprise. IBCS delivers a single integrated air picture with unprecedented accuracy and broadens surveillance and protection areas. By implementing IBCS, Poland will transform its IAMD capabilities in a manner consistent with the U.S. Army.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform test planning, monitoring and test execution activities
  • Devise the test objectives, organization test policies, test strategies and test plans.
  • Able to estimate the testing to be done and acquire necessary resources.
  • Schedule the test for execution and then will monitor, measure, control and report on the test progress, the product quality status and the test results, adapting the test plan and compensating as needed to adjust to evolving conditions.

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal level or a Sr Principal.

Basic Qualifications for Principal level:

  • Must have High school diploma or GED and 9 years applicable experience in software engineering.  Will also consider 5 Years software experience with Bachelors in Science, OR 3 Years with Masters.
  • Experience in performing test planning, monitoring, test integration (software installs, etc), and test execution
  • Active Secret Security Clearance investigated within the last 5 years

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal level:

  • High school diploma or GED and 13 years applicable experience.  Will also consider Bachelor's degree and at least 9 years of experience as a Software Engineer, 7 years with a Master's degree, or 4 years with a PhD.
  • Experience in performing test planning, monitoring, test integration (software installs, etc), and test execution
  • Active Secret Security Clearance investigated within the last 5 years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating and documenting technical documents, test plans/procedures, analyzing results and creating reports.
  • Excellent decision-making and communication (written and oral) skills
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work in an IPT environment
  • Windows/Linux or Networking certification preferred (i.e. Linux+, MSCE, CCNA)
  • Security+ certification preferred
  • Experience testing SW for performance and functionality based on requirement specification and ability to identify and document exact sequence of activities desired
  • Experience with automated testing

Salary Range: 95000 - 115000
Salary Range 2: 115000 - 150000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
