Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is looking for you to join our team as the Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead for the Application Software (App SW) on the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Battle Command System (IBCS) foreign military sales (FMS) effort in Huntsville, AL.  IBCS integrates disparate radars and weapons to construct a far more effective IAMD enterprise. IBCS delivers a single integrated air picture with unprecedented accuracy and broadens surveillance and protection areas. By implementing IBCS into their militaries, other nations will transform their IAMD capabilities in a manner consistent with the U.S. Army.

As the App SW IPT lead, you will direct a team that designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs application software and its associated Automated Test Equipment. Your team may conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product software. You will direct it in determining computer user needs; analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; preparing operating instructions; designing and developing compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. You and your team will ensure software standards are met.

This position is not limited to Software Engineers. Acceptable candidates with software experience could be from other engineering disciples, e.g., Engineer Systems, Engineer Systems Architect.

Basic Qualifications:

- 14 Years with Bachelors in Science; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills

- Control Account Management (CAM) experience

- Organizational skills; Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) experience

- Thorough understanding of the Software Development cycle within an Agile Environment
- Ability to understand the impact of technical data to the system

- Ability to be firm but tactful during difficult situations with team members, management, and customers

- Experience interviewing potential staff members

- Thorough understanding of classified network protocols

- Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

- Customer and upper management presentation skills

- IBCS knowledge

- FMS experience


Salary Range: 150000 - 185000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
