Become part of Northrop Grumman's C4 Missile Defense Engineering Leadership team.  C4 Missile Defense Business Unit is part of the Combat Systems Mission Readiness Division which protects and secures our global citizens through the development of integrated net-enabled command and control and training systems and solutions that defend against air missile threats, enhance situational awareness, and prepare for the mission.  

Perform Functional Management tasks for employees performing the following tasks: Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

- Drive agility and operational efficiency in Software Engineering and its associated processes and tools.
- Attract, develop, advise, assess, promote, and retain highly qualified engineering workforce.  
- This position is a dual role encompassing both functional management and technical performance.
- This position is located in Huntsville, AL with travel to company and customer sites potentially required up to 10% of the time. 

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's of Science Degree and at least five years of technical experience in Software Engineering or associated engineering discipline accompanied by high proficiency in technical problem solving.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills including team building and navigation, personal and career development, technical and inter-personal problem resolution, work planning and allocation.
- Current, active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prior experience in Software Engineering related to the development and delivery of US Army air defense command and control systems.  
- Proven technical management experience preferably in either program IPT, R&D or Advanced Systems, technology, and/ or functional environments.
- Demonstrated behavior as a driver for change and continuous improvement.
- Previous Functional Management Experience

- Have a technical performance role currently in place within the Defense Sector that can account for approximately 80% of their time.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.


Salary Range: 110000 - 155000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
