Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Technical Editor/Writer to join our diverse and talented development group. As a Technical Editor/Writer you will support the IBCS program in the development, management, and control of technical documentation in support of the program.

Basic Qualifications

Basic Qualifications for a Technical Editor/Writer are:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent and 6 years of applicable experience. Will also consider 2 Years experience of applicable experience with a Bachelors degree

Experience or related experience in negotiating and integrating different viewpoints, relay, and receive information and collaborate in a team environment.

Have strong writing, and editing skills, and experience in manipulating grammar

Experienced or related experience in querying authors for clarity and compliance purposes and must be skilled in Microsoft Word, MS excel, and PowerPoint

Candidate must be able to be granted and maintain a Secret clearance. US Citizenship required.

- Experience working with process development, document templates, configuration management, document management, and/or creating work instructions.

- 2+ years of experience and advanced skills with the Microsoft Office product suite

- 2+ years of experience and intermediate skills with Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

- Masters Degree in English, Writing, Instructional Design, or related field

- Experience working in an AGILE/SAFe development environment

- 6+ years working with military technical documents related to technical documentation and integrated logistics support (ARs, Mil Specifications and Preferences, Technical Bulletins, IETMs, DIDs, etc.)

- Advanced Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, and/or Adobe Illustrator user

- Familiarity with the creation, editing, review, finalization, and publishing of TBs, MWOs, and pamphlets, pocket guides, quick reference guides, and commercial pamphlets across multiple services (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard, and Coast Guard)

· Knowledge of Government Printing Office (GPO) style guide.

· Knowledge of Beyond Compare and Ultra Edit software.

· Have the ability to multitask on more than one project at a time.

· Have the ability to work with a group or independently, and able to complete assigned tasks within the required deadlines

-Possess active Secret Clearance


Salary Range: $56,300 USD - $84,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
