Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer]to join the Command and Launch Team. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and support the Advanced Programs program.  

The Advanced Programs System Modeler will focus on developing system architecture models in a Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) environment. Responsibilities will include development of system architecture, requirements verification architecture, and use cases in NoMagic Cameo along with integration of Cameo to requirements management tools.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

This requisition is a duel level and may be filled at either a Principal level or level Sr. Principal level.

Basic Qualifications:

Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of relevant engineering experience or a Master’s Degree and 0 years of engineering experience.

Principal Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of relevant engineering experience or a Master’s Degree and 3 years of engineering experience.

Both systems and Principal Systems Engineer

  • Demonstrated experience with SysML modelling in Cameo

  • Experience developing system architecture models in NoMagic Cameo

    Active DoD Secret level clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years

  • Able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated experience with requirements derivation, management, and flow using IBM DOORS (or equivalent, ex: Rhapsody or DOORS NG)
  • Demonstrated experience writing scripts for DOORS querying and automation
  • Experience developing system architecture models in NoMagic Cameo
  • Experience with the following MBSE Languages:

-SysML

-UML

  • Experience with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
  • Experience performing systems engineering on an ICBM System
  • Experience with specialty engineering disciplines such as:

-Nuclear Surety

-Human Factors

-Systems Safety

-Range Safety

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance and able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance."

Salary Range: $71,100 USD - $138,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
