Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

What you’ll get to do: 

The successful candidate will:

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll bring these qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
• Principal level requires 5 years with a Bachelor’s degree; 3 years with a Master’s degree; or 0 years with a PhD
• U.S. Citizenship with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
• Ability to obtain Special Access Program Clearance
• DOD 8570 IAT Level II (Security + or higher) or must obtain within 90 days of reporting.
• Equivalent level experience with MBSE- CAMEO, RHAPSODY, etc.
• Requirements management / decomposition / maturity
• Knowledge in preparing and presenting technical content to internal and external customers
• Equivalent level understanding of systems engineering principles and processes, requirements management, design and analysis.
• Demonstrated communication skills and flexibility
• Proficiency in MS Office

These qualifications would be nice to have:

Previous Systems Engineering experience and understanding of the systems engineering

• Experience using Cameo, Rhapsody, and DOORS
• Background in software systems engineering
• Knowledgeable in ICBM weapon systems

Salary Range: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
