Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Systems Engineering Product Owner to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.

Position Overview:   

The Sr. Principal System Engineering Product Owner will support the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communication (C2BMC) program. You will be responsible for leading and conducting performance analysis and assessment across the Performance Assessment and System Track Teams and defining and driving long-term vision for evolving analysis and assessment across the C2BMC program.

Essential Functions:  

  • Assessing documented issues for severity and applicability to mission objects in collaboration with SMEs and team leaders
  • Analysis and definition of functional and technical requirements and design specifications
  • Effectively and clearly presenting technical approaches and findings to all audiences, including technical SMEs and senior leadership
  • Thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 9 years of related experience, Master's Degree and 7 years of related experience, or PhD and 4 years of related experience.
  • Experience in defining, prototyping and evaluation meaningful technical measures of system performance in automated testing environments
  • Experience with design and assessment of Target Tracking, Track Reporting and Discrimination algorithms
  • Demonstrated proficiency with software development and data analysis using MATLAB, Python and Java with a working knowledge of DevSecOps, Test Driven Development and CI/CD concepts
  • A current active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance is required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Missile Defense Battle Management and Command and Control systems
  • Software development experience in Java, C, C++ and/or Fortran
  • A current active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance

Salary Range: $114,300 USD - $171,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
