Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Command and Launch Team. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL, Colorado Springs, CO or Roy, UT and support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Space System team supporting the Air Force’s Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This will include development, production and deployment of Launch Equipment hardware and systems for each weapon system facility. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other engineers. 

Responsibilities may include any or all of the following:

  • Provide systems engineering, integration, and test support
  • Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
  • Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems
  • Perform requirements analysis, develop source data for requirements specifications, generate test requirements and prepare test reports
  • Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis
  • Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including design, drawings, fabrication, test, installation, operation and maintenance
  • Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements
  • Interface with AF customer

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of relevant engineering experience or a Master’s Degree and 0 years of engineering experience.
  • Able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance updated within the last 5 years
  • Proven innovation strengths and strategic value creation
  • Strong understanding of entire product lifecycle, modeling and engineering best practices
  • Understanding of process/procedure development, control and improvement for test conduct and planning
  • Strong communication skills including technical writing and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge/experience with DOORS, Cameo and/or Rhapsody
  • Experience with ICBMs (MM, PK, Small Missile)

Salary Range: $71,100 USD - $106,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
