Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

What you’ll get to do: 

Design and develop system architectures, and define key capabilities and performance requirements.

Define design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications.

Develop thorough definition of system external interfaces. 

Ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer.

Responsible for cross-coordination of architecture modeling and MBSE products with digital engineering design

Support MBSE strategy and implementation over the various Architecture Model

Coordinate with integrated product teams for establishing content within the architecture

Execute model integration processes, tools, and technique.

Create new and adapt existing models, methods, and analysis capabilities to conduct studies to support the design, development, and assessment of advanced system design concepts and technologies.

Ensure performance capabilities of new systems and architectures are consistent with mission requirements; develop mission relevant scenarios; assess operational effectiveness of existing and emerging systems and capabilities in representative operational environments.

Work within multi-disciplined teams to architect, model, simulate, and analyze systems to predict/verify system performance against functional/capability requirements.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll bring these qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Cybersecurity, Software, Engineering, or related field
  • A minimum 9 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 7 years with a Master’s; or 4 years with a PhD) an additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • U.S. Citizenship with an active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Ability to obtain Special Access Program Clearance (DoD clearance investigation in the last 5.5 years or in Continues Evaluation-Deferred)
  • 3+ years systems engineering experience
  • 3 + years of system Architecture experience to include the implementation of Big Data Technologies (i.e..Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)

These qualifications would be nice to have:

  • Experience with large systems
  • Data analysis experience
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite
  • Experience with Client/Server architecture
  • Agile experience
  • Proficiency with Tools such as: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.
  • Model Based System Engineering with an understanding of DODAF and SysML
  • Experience in Cameo, Rhapsody, and DOORS
  • Experience using tools to model large systems with multiple developers.
  • Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred.
  • Experience with weapon systems
  • Experience with software development

Salary Range: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
