With our competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, we have the right opportunities to fit your life and launch your career today.   Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) sector is seeking a Contracts Manager 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the U.S. Army’s Special Electronics Mission Aircraft (SEMA) Life Cycle Services Contract in Huntsville, Alabama.  The selected applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Logistics and Modernization Division contracts organization and will have overall contracts management responsibilities for the SEMA program.  The successful candidate will report directly to Contracts Leadership and will work closely on a day-to-day basis with the program directors, managers, business managers, operations manager, and other functional teams on the SEMA Contract.   Responsibilities:  
  • Makes decisions in a timely manner, offers guidance, and works cooperatively with a multitude of organizations ranging from technical, program, finance, supply chain, export, and security for seamless contract administration
  • Directly supervises and manages 3 staff personnel and provides objective-oriented direction utilizing management guidelines and general policies while maintaining a strong level of engagement
  • Oversees all aspects of the SEMA portfolio, from the business development phase through contract closeout, delivering strong customer satisfaction, successful financial performance, and risk mitigation
  • Builds strong customer intimacy and employee engagement
  • Reviews and approves contractual documents for protection of the company's contractual/risk posture, satisfaction of contractual requirements, and adherence to company policies
  • Maintains strong attention to detail
  • Plans and executes successful contract negotiations of a complex nature and achieves targeted profit rates as well as favorable terms and conditions to assist in meeting profit and cash goals
  • Regular and proactive interface and effective collaboration is required with program, technical, and operations organizations in order to provide guidance and direction based upon the requirements of the contracts, change management discipline, and to ensure timeliness of CDRL submissions

Basic Qualifications:  
  • Must have one of the following:
    • High school diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of contract administration experience
    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of contract administration experience
    • Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years of contract administration experience
  • Proven successful experience in administering complex contracts.  Including experience with all contract types including firm fixed price and cost reimbursable, and time and material contracts
  • Strong working knowledge of the FAR, DFARS and other U.S. Federal Government contract regulations
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency and strength with PCs, presentation, and effective communication
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
  • Must be able to work on-site in Huntsville, Alabama

Preferred Qualifications:  
  • Significant experience managing contract requirements involving Contractor Logistic Support (CLS) within the Contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside the Contiguous United States (OCONUS)
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisor experience
  • Active engagement and working relationships during the life of the program, specifically with Program Management and the Supply Chain Organization
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Army Regulations
