Northrop Grumman is designing, producing, and sustaining the next generation of ballistic missile interceptors as part of the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) solution. A Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) is necessary to deliver timely, reliable, and effective defense for the United States in the face of ever evolving and ever increasing threats to our nation. Northrop Grumman’s fully integrated Interceptor program leverages broad Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) expertise and twenty-plus years of operational GMD GBI Homeland Defense experience. Space Systems Sector is seeking a Computer Systems Architect/Principal Computer Systems Architect (DOORS) located in Huntsville, AL to support the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program.
Your responsibilities Include:
• Role requires experience in integrating and employing tools across the architecture lifecycle and interfacing to coordinating disciplines and tools.
• Role requires depth of knowledge in the system administration of the DOORS database suite, Control and monitoring of user access permissions, privileges, and security.
• Maintaining system’s technical baseline and ensure integrity of changes to the approved baseline
• Planning and designing database schemas for requirements-related products considering both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users
• Monitoring performance and manage parameters in order to provide fast responses to front-end users
• Installing and testing new versions of the database management system (DBMS)
• Writing database documentation including data standards and procedures
• Developing, managing, and testing back-up and recovery plans for the DOORS database
• Managing security and disaster recovery aspects of the database
• Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
• Working closely with Quality Assurance and Configuration Management to manage product baselines.
• Communicating regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
• Working with cross-discipline product teams and routinely interface with end users, group leads, senior management, and government personnel
• Supporting teams of multi-discipline engineers for short-duration requirements events [Agile Development]

Basic Qualifications:
This position may be filled at either Computer Systems Architect or Principal Computer Systems Architect level
• Computer Systems Architect: 2 years with Bachelor in Science; 0 Years with Masters
• Principal Computer Systems Architect: 5 years with Bachelor in Science,; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
• U.S. Citizenship
• Individual must have a current, active Secret security clearance
• Experience creating DOORS module features, DOORS types, link modules, efficient DOORS linkage across many modules, usage of regular expressions
• The successful candidate will have a software programing background with a minimum of 2 years’ experience using and maintaining system engineering tools and processes as an administrator of the IBM Rational DOORS toolset
• Individual should have a strong working knowledge of UML-based system modeling tools such as System Architect, Rhapsody, Cameo etc.
• Demonstrated experience of programming in the DOORS Extension Language (DXL) and C-type language for script usage within DOORS and programming/script writing with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
• The candidate must have good writing, organizing, and communication / collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Educational or certification credentials for DOORS tools.
• Experience using JavaScript, Java, & HTML and as a SharePoint Developer is a plus.
• Experience with requirements development/ management on a system-of-system DoD program is desired.
• Additional knowledge of missile defense systems to include BMDS, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense, X-Band Radar (XBR), or other major DoD weapons systems is preferred.
• Experience with systems engineering design and specification documentation is desired.
