Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Cyber Systems Engineer – DevSecOps Engineer (23-465) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located out of Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

The candidate will support the C2BMC DevSecOps team to develop and deploy Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service capability. Assist in managing multiple environments, software deployment, troubleshooting, and automation in a DevSecOps environment for a critical customer program. We are working with the leading DevOps practices and tooling (Hashcorp Tools, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible Tower, and Nexus Pro).

Essential Functions:

  • Work on systems administration-related issues with hardware and software for different network environments.
  • Support deployment of custom software solutions integrating COTS, GOTS, and developed software.
  • Propose system administration process improvement by working with the design team and manufacturers to reduce maintenance requirements.
  • Determines system requirements, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and system configuration maintenance.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies.
  • Develops and recommends corrective actions.
  • May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.
  • Applies extensive expertise
  • Solves complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
  • Work is performed without appreciable direction and is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long-term perspective.
  • Erroneous decisions normally fail to achieve major organizational objectives.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies, especially VMWare, to include infrastructure and automation of those environments.
  • Skills in logical/physical architecture modeling and knowledge of CI/CD pipeline architecture, RAM, Mission Assurance, Safety, and cyber security concepts.

Basic Qualifications:

Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.

  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • 9 years with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 13 years experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAM Level III DoDI 8570 Certification
  • Candidates with IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) and the ability to obtain IAM Level III Certification within the 8570 guidelines will be considered.
  • Experience in Cloud technology and concepts.
  • 3-5 years experience with continuous integration environments in Network, Software, or platform infrastructure capability automation, development, and deployment.
  • Experience with Linux/UNIX or Windows system administration.
  • Experience with a shell scripting language (e.g., Python, Powershell, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • May function in project leadership roles and represent the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters on contracts.
  • Skills in logical/physical architecture modeling and knowledge of CI/CD pipeline architecture, RAM, Mission Assurance, Safety, and cyber security concepts are highly desirable.
  • Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
  • Able to work independently / solo on large projects.
  • Collaborative team environment with DevSecOps engineers and other program development and deployment teams.
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using Ansible, GitLab, Nexus, or other equivalent technology is desired.
  • Experience with developing formal builds within the DoD industry is desired.

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:

Salary Range: $117,900 - $176,900
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
