Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Software Development Manager 2 for a fast-paced, growing and dynamic position to support our Immersive Mission Solutions (IMS) Operating Unit (OU). Northrop Grumman is an industry leader in developing, integrating, and sustaining complex systems for the US Department of Defense.
We are seeking a Manager, Software Development 2, to provide engineering Functional Management (FM) to the engineering staff supporting the US Army Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Business Operating System (PPB BOS) program in Fairfax, VA. This role will serve as FM lead overseeing several functional managers. This role splits time between serving as a functional manager (20% nominally) and as a individual contributor supporting engineering activities on the PPB BOS program (80% nominally).
This position will be located in Fairfax, VA.
Functional Manager responsibilities include:
- Assisting team members with career development
- Quarterly performance assessments of your team members
- Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new staff
- Approval of timecards and other similar administrative tasks
- Workload management for direct reports
Basic Qualifications:
- 14 Years with Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field; 12 years of experience with a Masters' degree; 9 years of experience with a PhD
- Active Secret security clearance
- Data Analytics experience.
- Previous Functional Management Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Planning, Programming and Budgeting DoD processes and/or data
- Experience in recruiting and developing top engineering talent
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Experienced in all aspects of the Engineering processes and Software development
- Experience with Planning, Programming and Budgeting DoD processes and/or data
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
