Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services is seeking a qualified PC Network Support Technician level 3 or level 4. This position will be located in San Diego, CA. Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Provide technical support to business area management and staff for personal computer systems software, hardware, peripheral equipment, and network connectivity.
- Provide technical support to a high demand working environment (Manufacturing / Shop Floor)
- Install, configure, and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, and network connectivity issues.
- Install, troubleshoot, service and repair servers, and network equipment such as modems, multiplexers, related PC software, telephones, cables, and connectors.
- Instructs users in the use of personal computers and networks.
- Investigate information, network, and communications needs of users, and make recommendations regarding software and hardware purchases.
- Provide Windows systems management.
- Provide local Windows and file Server administration.
- Provide enclave environment support.
- Provide basic network administration.
- Work with software vendors to support third party applications.
- Provide software packaging/installation support.
- Provide on call support during critical launch times and/or production-impacting incidents.
- Performs security audits/institute changes to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Must have the ability to perform root cause analysis for complex issues and document technical solutions.
- Provide any technical support above and beyond the Tier1/2 support vendor.
- Monitor ticket queues to ensure SLAs are met.
Basic Qualifications for Level 3
- Associate's degree with and 3 years of experience, or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed 2-year degree.
- Current CompTIA A+, or Network+, or Security+ certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire date.
- Must have Manufacturing / Shop floor experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Windows Desktop OS and Office Product Suite.
- Experience in Active Directory configuring user and computer accounts.
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.
- Must be willing to occasionally travel.
Basic Qualifications for Level 4
- Associate's degree with and 6 years of experience, or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed 2-year degree.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification is required on Day 1 of employment.
- Must have Manufacturing / Shop floor experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Windows Desktop OS and Office Product Suite.
- Experience in Active Directory configuring user and computer accounts.
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.
- Must be willing to occasionally travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline.
- Cross-platform experience (ie. Windows, Linux, Solaris, OSX, UNIX, etc.).
- Experience supporting VMware VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure).
- Advance knowledge in Active Directory configuring user and computer accounts.
- Proficiency in remote administration and troubleshooting of desktop PC’s.
- Proficiency in Visio, Project, and PowerShell.
