Northrop Grumman’s CIO is seeking a PC Network Support Technician; this position will be located in Linthicum, MD. Please note that the selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time, at our Linthicum, MD campus. The selected candidate will monitor and operate electronic digital computers to process business, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions, and ensure correct peripheral equipment utilization.
Job responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Provide technical support for computers and associated networks.
Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers, network equipment such as servers, related PC software, cables, and connectors.
Provide client and server hardware and software support.
Connect clients, servers, and terminals to existing data networks.
Instruct users in the use of hardware and networks.
Investigate information, network, and communications needs of users, and make recommendations regarding software and hardware purchases.
Perform basic client, server, and network software programming.
Assist InfoSec with DFARS and CMMS compliance responsibilities.
Specific responsibilities supporting Engineering and Manufacturing Operations will include:
Off-network and lab environments - setup, maintenance, compliance and vulnerability remediation; support client and server domain migration.
Video Teleconferencing system support - setup, maintenance, troubleshoot, compliance and vulnerability remediation.
Setup and configure rack mount workstations on occasion.
Server application support.
Engineering application support - install, configure, and troubleshoot engineering applications.
Network data port activation and testing.
Other duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years of additional education and/or related experience.
Active DoD Top Secret security clearance required on Day 1; maintaining the required security clearance will be a condition of continued employment.
CompTIA Security+CE certification required on Day 1; maintaining the required certification will be a condition of continued employment.
Demonstrated understanding and experience with wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field.
Experience with providing technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems.
Subject matter expert in Windows OS.
Expertise in client and server hardware.
Experience with engineering applications.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive mission critical needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting manufacturing operations, hardware, software, etc.
Experience with PowerShell.
Experience with the deployment of non-standard client and server images.
Certifications: MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist), CompTIA A+.
The ability to work independently and appropriately escalate issues and roadblocks to leadership.
Superior customer service and service delivery, and the ability to maintain composure in difficult situations, with challenging customers.
Demonstrated personal integrity and high ethical standards in customer contacts as well as all internal relationships.
The ability to master unfamiliar information, tasks, and situations quickly and effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with DFARS and NIST InfoSec controls.
