Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a qualified Linux Administrator to join its Classified Solutions team in Annapolis Junction. Please note that due to the classified nature of this position, the selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time, and that this is not a remote work opportunity.
Roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Perform as a Linux Systems Administrator for a large classified government contract.
Maintain efficient operations of the entire IT infrastructure including desktops and potentially Linux servers.
Support multiple networks and ensure necessary IT administration tasks are completed under supervision as necessary.
Assist with testing new releases of products to ensure compatibility and to minimize user impact.
Assist with developing and maintaining technical processes and procedures as needed.
Assist with maintaining security audit and logging information on all classified networked and standalone computers as directed by the Cyber Security team.
Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.
Basic Qualifications:
Associate’s degree with 4 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience; a High School diploma or equivalent with 6 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
Experience operating under and managing systems within current applicable information systems compliance standards.
Technical Abilities:
Experience maintaining Classified Linux Domains in effective operations to include a fundamental knowledge of the following:
Linux desktop support.
Active Directory (AD) users and computers.
Assisting with the deployment of updates.
Helpdesk support experience.
Supporting golden image deployment.
Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools.
Clearance and Access:
Candidates must have a current DoD Top Secret level security clearance and polygraph (at a minimum), to include a closed investigation date completed within the last 6 years, or must be enrolled in the DoD Continuous Evaluation Program (CEP), in order to be considered; the required security clearance must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
The selected candidate must agree to submit and successfully complete a polygraph reexamination as a condition to retain access to special program(s) if necessary.
The selected candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain, access to the program as a condition of continued employment; program access must be obtained before a start date can be established.
Non-Technical Abilities and Certifications:
Currently valid Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP, or similar DoD 8570 security certification, or the ability to obtain the required certification within 6 months of hire date; certification must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
Experience working in a team of IT professionals under direct supervision.
Ability to travel as needed.
Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.
