Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems (LMDS) division has an exciting career opportunity for a Scrum Master / Principal Scrum Master to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview:
The selected candidate will be responsible for facilitating all team level events (PI Planning Team Breakouts, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand Up, Feature Elaboration, Sprint Review and Retrospectives) for the MASC-F (Modeling and Simulation -Framework) team.
Essential Functions:
- Provide timely and accurate reporting of impediments, blockers, and risks to their Release Train Engineer
- Work with Release Train Engineer to set performance and growth targets for their teams
- Guide mentoring and development of agile team members
- Participate in Scrum of Scrums, Inspect and Adapt, and any ad hoc sessions called by RTE or Agile Coach
- Responsible for coordinating cross-team collaboration and dependencies and reporting them to the RTE
- Ensure teamwork, progress, and artifacts are transparent to all designated stakeholders

This requisition may be filled at either a Software Engineer or a Principal Software Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications for a Scrum Master:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related experience.
- Familiar with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Strong knowledge of Agile Scrum workflow and Kanban
- Ability to lead and facilitate all Agile ceremonies
- Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Scrum Master:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience, or 0 years and a PhD.
- Experienced working with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Able to effectively communicate across all levels of the program
- Strong knowledge of Agile Scrum workflow and Kanban
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to lead and facilitate all Agile ceremonies
- Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
- SAFe Scrum Master certification
- Experience with Jira - issue tracking and agile project management, or similar tool
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams
- Familiar with Agile project tools Verison1/Agility or Jira
- Experience with reporting metrics
- A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Top Secret security clearance.
