The Microelectronics Center of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking an exceptionally talented, motivated, and creative Principal or Senior Principal Agile Product Owner, responsible for supporting the organization with software product planning for various programs.
Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman’s ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, and Silicon Carbide) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable a number of Northrop Grumman’s ground-based radars, avionic radars, and space systems. The position will support Systems and Infrastructure organization for the ATL Foundry. The Principal / Senior Principal Agile Product Owner will have an overarching responsibility for leading the development and maintenance of a suite of software products and services built by different teams and used across ATL. The Principal / Senior Principal Agile Product Owner will partner closely with other Product Owners, Tech Leads and Managers within the Application and Infrastructure Teams, as well as with Stakeholders, Product Engineers and end users to manage all business aspects of the software products and services – from inception to delivery and maintenance.
This will be an onsite position allowing for as-needed remote work on a case-by-case basis. Up to 25% domestic travel may be expected.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and communicate the overarching product vision across the Apps teams.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, analyze, and elaborate opportunities for using software to help ATL engineers make quick informed decisions in emerging situations.
Coordinate and prioritize requests from multiple stakeholders across different products.
Identify and manage interdependencies among various initiatives and teams. Conduct PI Planning.
Manage stakeholder expectations by clarifying on scope of work, and communicating roadmaps, product release timelines, progress, impediments, successes as well as setbacks.
Ensure that products being architected meet current and future needs of our customers while remaining compliant with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Work with teams to identify modernization and continuous improvement opportunities for their products and services.
Provide status updates and demonstrations to senior management.
Work independently, but also escalate issues when needed to remove impediments.
Own one or more team’s backlog and stand-in for other PO/SM/RTE when needed.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Agile Product Owner:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of experience, Masters in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of experience
Experience leading and managing software development.
Experience working as a Product Owner in Agile software delivery teams.
U.S. Citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
Strong communication skills, able to tailor the message to different audiences.
Experience using tools and techniques for project planning, and leading complete SDLC efforts.
Open to learning about manufacturing principles, semiconducting manufacturing, and testing.
Basic qualifications for Senior Principal Agile Product Owner:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of experience, Masters in a STEM discipline with 6+ years of experience; Ph.D in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of experience.
Experience leading and managing software development.
Experience working as a Product Owner in Agile software delivery teams.
U.S. Citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
Strong communication skills, able to tailor the message to different audiences
Experience using tools and techniques for project planning, and leading complete SDLC efforts.
Open to learning about manufacturing principles, semiconducting manufacturing, and testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current active secret or higher clearance.
Software Development/Testing experience with ability to query databases to analyze data.
Led strategy and management of Product portfolios
Prior experience leading Engineering Product Development.
Experience with SAFe Agile practices such as daily Scrum, PI Planning and S2s.
Proficiency in producing, organizing, and sharing knowledge articles, and tracking work items using tools such as Atlassian Confluence, Jira, Lucid, Figma, Balsamiq, SharePoint, etc.
Track record of successful project proposals, startups and completions.
Experience developing or testing software used in Semiconductor Manufacturing facilities.
Experience with Manufacturing Execution System software such as FACTORYWorks.
