Our US Army Africa Mission Support program is seeking an Exercise Planner, to join their diverse team in Vicenza, Italy.  Position Description
  • Facilitates all aspects of exercise coordination and preparation with other staff elements and with outside organizations as necessary.
•     Attend exercise scenario development sessions. •     Assist in observer controller activities and document lessons learned for after action reviews •     Incorporate exercise lessons learned into Army and Joint Exercise Lessons Learned system.
  • Build and contribute to scenario exercise databases.
  • Represent indigenous land forces to execute full spectrum operations in a scenario.
     
  • Support planning across the Joint Event Life Cycle.
     
  • Administratively supports the lead exercise planner.
     
Responsibilities •  Manage the execution of the USARAF exercises including the exercise planning team.
  • Provide research and analyses to assist USARAF in effective exercise development.
     
  • Facilitates exercise coordination and preparation with staff elements within USARAF and outside organizations
     
  • Command planning, strategic initiatives, and concept development.
     
  • Plan joint and combined exercises and leverage national logistics to sustain USARAF missions.
  • Develop operational and planning concepts and evaluating the Command’s ability to support real-world operations.
      This position is based in Vicenza, Italy but may require travel / deployment to the African continent or other locations, under austere or hazardous conditions.  Hazard Duty pay will be authorized for those who are required to deploy under hazardous conditions, as determined by the US Govt.  All applicants must pass a Deployment Physical / Medical Exam and possess a valid passport as a condition of employment.   Peraton is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce. Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in related field and 10 years’ experience; or an Associate’s degree and minimum of 15 years’ experience; or  High School diploma / equivalent 20 years recent relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Must possess an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Minimum 15 years’ Active Duty U.S. Army experience.
  • Staff experience at the Brigade or above level.
  • Experience planning, design, and execution of exercises across the Joint Exercise Life Cycle at levels comparable to Joint Task Force and Corps.
  • Experience in scenario/script writing to develop, review, and revise scenarios to support a joint and combined exercise program.
  • MEL-4 qualified (CGSC/ILE Graduate)
  • 8 years of relevant experience in Army operational planning 
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with a business or engineering science focus
  • Relevant operational experience on the African Continent within the past 10 years
  • 10 years of relevant experience in Army operational planning
