Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an Engineering Technician 2 to join our Florida Operations team at our Kennedy Space Center, FL office.

Role description & Responsibilities:

The Engineering Technician is responsible to work closely with engineering to perform detailed electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, assembly, and check-out operations.   Candidate must be well organized and be expected to status engineers and management, support release of tooling designs, have experience with computer based shop assembly instructions. Works with engineers to improve processes and safely meet the strict demands of Human Space Flight.

Job Duties:

  • Multitask between various engineer inputs and projects while also supporting hands on fit checks and mechanical electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Regular status updates to engineering and leaders.
  • Conduct tests and assessments of new systems and repairs to ensure quality.
  • Assemble and install electrical panels, wire harnesses, and other electrical equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a regular schedule.

Experience Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in aerospace flight hardware processing or aviation.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and all necessary equipment.
  • Able to read/interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Proficient with manual and power tools.
  • Familiarity with FOD Controls.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Broad understanding of computer based shop assembly instructions.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture
  • Able to lift heavy equipment, work in a high noise environment, stand at least 10-hours a day, work minimum of 40-hours or more per week, read and interpret engineering drawings and standard work procedures.
  • Experience of familiarity with AS9100 requirements, standards, and compliance issues.
  • Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Education/Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Salary Range: $43,200 USD - $72,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
