Are you ready to put your facility maintenance experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, we want you to join our Aircraft Maintenance and Fabrication Center as a Facilities Maintenance Technician 3. This position will be located at our site in Lake Charles, LA.

You will work with our facilities Manager and Team to provide Top Notch Maintenance to our Site.

Your specific duties will include:

  • Plan, install, diagnose malfunctions, repair and maintain various types of electrical controls, power distribution, equipment and associated non-electronic controls.
  • Obtain work order and necessary information such as one or more of the following: oral instructions, sketches, schematics, drawings, specifications and manufacturer's catalogs. Interpret information and plan work as required to complete assigned tasks. All electrical work must conform to National Fire Protection Association Code. Assist higher classified personnel on difficult assignments and for training purposes. Verify information and materials and report discrepancies to supervision.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings to establish a plan of repair.
  • Determine and obtain necessary tools and material and transport to job location.
  • Layout, thread, bend and install conduit fittings into couplings, breakers, and other associated equipment. Fabricate brackets when necessary to support installations. Pull wire and splice electrical connections and make all types of soldered and mechanical joints. Touch up equipment with paint after installation.
  • Layout, install, wire and connect electrical/mechanical equipment and circuits such as control circuits, transformers, lighting systems, power distribution panels, motors, generators, switches, high voltage switch gear, circuit breakers, fire and intrusion alarm, control panels, and other associated electrical equipment and wiring.
  • Determine the nature of malfunctions of all types of electrical controls and power circuits by testing, tracing circuits, and checking operation of equipment and make necessary repairs to return equipment or circuits to normal operation.
  • Perform meggers insulation resistance tests on various insulated conductors, transformers, busbar structures and power cables.8. Perform preventive maintenance of electrical equipment such as remove dust and dirt, oiling, cleaning contacts, visual inspection of worn wire and the like.
  • Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records as required within Maximo CMMS.
  • Troubleshoot centrifugal and screw chillers, industrial ventilation, industrial refrigeration equipment, and computer climate control systems.
  • Work on electronically controlled valve systems to pneumatic controlled multi-zoned air handlers.


Basic Qualifications:

1. A High School diploma or equivalent.

2. A minimum of 4 years of experience working in a manufacturing industry as an Electrical Technician.

3. Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Technical Education beyond High School in a related field.

2. 5 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing industry as an Electrical Technician.

3. 3 or more years of direct experience repairing/installing HVAC systems

Salary Range: 46200 - 77000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
