Are you ready to put your experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Aircraft Maintenance & Fabrication Center is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Planning Specialist 2 to join their diverse team in Lake Charles, LA.

Our team is chartered with providing an innovative approach in developing Supply Chain Management solutions to help sustain multiple product lines providing a decisive advantage to the warfighter on multiple service platforms.

You are a direct interface between the Supply Chain Management Team and the AMFC Lake Charles Procurement Team for all aspects of the Supply Chain. You will be assigned to the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) Function and will perform in a somewhat autonomous manner.

You will use your knowledge and experience to work with Production Control, GOM Controllers and the Warehouse Inventory Management Staff to mitigate potential impacts to schedule by offering alternatives to satisfy the immediate requirement. Develop a material strategy responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregate and prioritize demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products. Analyze and aggregate supply / demand requirements. Analyze purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools. Plan inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements. Assess rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements. Create/reduce supply requirements based on inventory adjustments. Participate in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs. Interface with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed. Create/release requisitions. Receive/review requirements for non-standard parts. Analyze lead times and identifies critical path procurements.

Your Specific Job duties include: 

Find solutions to relieve critical aircraft constraints for Materials 

Develop an understanding repair and fabrication capabilities of the site, using drawings and Illustrated Parts Catalog to determine Next Higher Assemblies, Service Bulletins, Engineering Orders, etc.

Determining alternative means to solve complex material shortage constraints on the aircraft where requirements require research into OEM Drawings, Material Specifications and Supplier data to understand and develop a solution

Extensive research and collaboration with the Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing Engineering teams for Material resolutions

Analyze data and identify trends as well as make projections based on historical usage data information

Prepare an analysis of alternative approaches, look at the causal factors for the Supply problem using multiple systems

Ensure that MMAS compliance is followed in all procurement and supply chain management activities as it relates to audit and financial responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 yrs of supply chain planning experience. An additional 4 yrs of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.

2. Familiarity with the following software: SAP, NGSAMS & MES

3. Ability to work in a multi-disciplined teaming environment with the ability to prioritize & adjust tasks to accomplish a desired project result.

Preferred Qualification:

1. Ability to read Profile Drawings & Understand Basic Latitude of Material Substitutions to Mitigate Constraints

2. Familiarity with Contract Labor Requisitioning, the I-Buy Purchasing System, QQ-A Specs for Alloy and Temper Identification, Vendor Services & SQ Clauses


Salary Range: 58300 - 87500

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
