Are You ready to put your experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, we want you to join our Team as an In Flight Trainer (IFT) Industrial Engineer. This position is located in Lake Charles, LA.

 

You will support our new In Flight Trainer (IFT) Program. The mission is to complete a PDM check and eventually modify it to the trainer.

Your duties Include:

  • Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules, integrating multiple program schedule requests into one executable schedule for production teams

  • Resolves conflicts between competing programs for common resources

  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed

  • Create, maintain and status network-based, Master Production Schedules

  • Fully understands critical path schedule network processing, driven by logic, durations and date constraints

  • Experience with IMS hierarchical schedule structure

  • Experience exporting schedule data to Excel/Project and working with responsible parties to gather and report schedule status and productivity metrics per weekly and monthly reporting cycles

  • Experience with critical and driving path identification and analysis

  • Experience resource loading schedules, including both labor and material

  • Exposure to MES systems with experience aligning program schedules with the manufacturing/production system

  • Motivated to work independently with minimum supervision

  • Familiarity integrating external customer or subcontractor program activity into the master production schedule

  • Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel

  • May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations

  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods

  • Provide estimates for developed work instructions

Other Duties May Include:

  • Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours

  • May be required to work in other fields incidental to, and in connection with, completion of assignment

  • May be required to perform other related duties, as assigned

  • Responsible for reinforcing site and/or program safety protocols, maintaining documentation, ensuring compliance with OSHA and Northrop Grumman policies and procedures, monitoring the facility for safety hazards, and responding accordingly

Basic Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 8 years of IE Experience and a High School diploma; A Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study and a minimum of 4 years of IE experience may also be considered.

2. High energy, results oriented (commitment to follow up), self-motivated / self-directed, proactive, team player

3. Strong problem solving and analysis skills with the ability to learn from mistakes

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with and drive deliverables from individuals at all levels within the organization

5. Ability to multitask and prioritize

6. Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours

7. Strong attention to detail

8. Proficient in MS-Office suite


Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience utilizing all aspects of Microsoft Project to manage IMS

2. Able to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance

3. Experience on new programs


Salary Range: $64,600 USD - $97,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
