Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a E-6B IMMC Aircraft/Mission Systems Test Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our IMMC program. This leadership role is located in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

You will be working closely with the Operations Manager and other Managers to implement department initiatives, ensuring successful planning and execution of program test engineering activities and collaborating with programs to satisfy staffing needs and providing operations support. Additionally, the manager serves as liaison between Northrop Grumman and its external customers.  You will manage a dynamic team of 3 to 12 technicians executing installation, troubleshooting, and test throughout the lifecycle of a modification aircraft and/or drop-in maintenance aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Functional responsibilities
o    Support the annual salary review and promotion process
o    Mentor and develop the next generation of technical and project leadership
o    Improve and enforce company and site processes and procedures
o    Maintain Team’s staffing by conducting interviews and selecting the best candidate for the job
•    Technical responsibilities:
o    Track, analyze and report on Test teams' cost, schedule and quality, and total project performance
o    Responsible for day-to-day operations required to run a high-performance team of technicians
o    Assess productivity, goals, objectives and customer satisfaction and manage all aspects of their team’s development
o    Provide timely resource forecasts to IPT/functional organizations and assures proper staffing is in place to execute the SOW, while maintaining an integrated schedule
o    Drive process rigor and ensure compliance to meet company, program and security requirements
o    Ensure successful planning and execution of program activities

Basic Qualifications:    

  • A High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 11 years of related aircraft avionics/test supervisory/management experience, OR a Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related experience OR a Master’s degree AND 5 years of related professional/military experience
  • 2 Years of prior leadership/management experience
  • An active DoD secret or higher clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance after starting position
  • Knowledge of software loading to Weapons Replaceable Assemblies
  • Knowledge of networking between various aircraft systems
  • Knowledge of various cable types including fiber optics
  • Knowledge of cryptographic key loading and EKMS-1

Preferred Qualifications:    

  • Experience in several of the following areas: Systems development experience; Knowledge of architectures, Communications, Data links, Computer networks, Sensors, Avionics, and/or experience with instrumentation systems
  • Master's degree in engineering, Engineering Management or MBA
  • Experience leading an Agile development Software team
  • Extensive knowledge of military aviation processes, procedures and work instructions required to support both management and engineering tasks at the Lake Charles site
  • Current DoD Top Secret security clearance
  • Cost Account Management experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

Salary Range: $85,400 USD - $128,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
