The Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Advanced Processing Solutions (APS) Business pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefining the leading edge of exotic new technologies in computation, system security, and AI. One of our most challenging new fields is Transformational Computing (TC), which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. Our team is chartered with providing the skills to transform computing beyond Moore’s Law, advancing development of computer architectures, processing/ memory subsystems, and large-scale high performance computing systems. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside a broad array of scientists and engineers to make these processing solutions a reality and deliver remarkable new advantages to the warfighter.

Advanced Processing Solutions Engineering is seeking Lean Agile Pod Managers to align with our technical teams and drive program execution.  The Pod Manager will lead a cross functional team of approximately 8-12 APS technical staff in support of Transformational Computing programs.  The Lean Agile pods will comprise a wide range of engineering and science disciplines, including systems, software, architecture, hardware design, test, physics, and materials science. 

Key roles and responsibilities include the following:
  • Execute in a direct contributor role on the program as a system, software, hardware, or test engineer; or as an architect, physicist or material scientist.
  • Work with team technical leads and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to define requirements and develop Agile program plans.
  • Work in cooperation with Agile Scrum master to track execution and provide technical leadership to the pod.
  • Work with program management and technical leads to understand and document pod staffing needs.
  • Work with Talent Acquisition, technical staff and other functional management to screen candidates, set up interviews, collect feedback, and assist in determining whether to make offers.
  • Track progress, compile statistics, define useful metrics, and report weekly to OU and functional management. Brief executive management on plan and progress as required.
  • Administrative management responsibilities for a team of 8-12 APS technical staff, including technical tasking, performance evaluation, career development, and salary planning.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum 7 years of related engineering experience including at least one year as an integrated product team or technical team lead
  • Proven leadership skills as a people and technical leader, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of Agile or Lean-Agile project management
  • Able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance per business requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Engineering Leadership, or equivalent
  • 12 years of experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment
  • Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader
  • Experience with Lean-Agile development for software or hardware systems
  • Current, active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Salary Range: 122000 - 183000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
