Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manager 1 - Accounting responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting, auditing and
Corporate/Sector policies and procedures. This position will support the Mission Systems Sector Billing organization. This position is an onsite position located in Linthicum, MD - with option for hybrid schedule.

This position will oversee the day to day responsibilities of the Linthicum Billing Group SME's. Manager will assign and oversee tasks for 4 person SME unit responsible for troubleshooting billing related issues for the Linthicum Billing Team. This position will be a key contributor in providing and administering recurring training for MS Billing and PCA staff.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Training, system documentation and optimization for SME group, including utilization of 3 person rotating Pathway team as support for Linthicum billers
  • Assign workload to billing team to achieve organizational goals related to billing efficiency and cross training
  • Provide analytic support to Billing Manager and complete ad hoc billing related projects as needed
  • Apply principles of accounting to maintain general ledger and related accounting records for Mission System sector
  • Compile and analyze; oversee and review preparation of financial information to record transactions, prepare reports and verify accuracy for individual entities and Sector consolidated financial data reporting
  • Ensure proper maintenance and administration of financial data integration and related mapping tables to enable accurate and timely transmission to Corporate financial system
  • Selected candidate will periodically provide consultation on GAAP related business matters, interface with DCMA and DCAA concerning new government regulations and practices, participate in audits, both internal and external, and maintain proper SOX documentation and compliance
  • Participate in the design, modification, installation and/or maintenance of accounting systems, processes and other special projects

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management or related concentration with at least 5 years' of relevant experience - OR - MS as described with 3 years of experience.
  • Experience leading a program, project, or people
  • Working knowledge of the SAP accounting system
  • US Citizenship is required.


Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or master's degree


Salary Range: $94,300 USD - $141,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
