Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Manager of Creative Services to join our Communications organization in Linthicum, MD. This person will report to the Mission Systems (MS) Brand Manager and lead the MS Creative Services team. A successful candidate will thrive in a highly active environment that demands collaboration, innovative thinking, creative storytelling and use of tools to effectively communicate to employees, customers, the public, industry, stakeholders and others. We are looking for someone to infuse new ideas and techniques into projects and help to elevate the value of our creative design team.

What You'll Get to Do:

The Creative Services Manager will be an active participant on the Brand Experience team. Thinking and acting strategically, the selected candidate will help develop content reflecting Northrop Grumman’s brand and strategic objectives and employ a wide range of communications tactics and tools to ensure that our messages are accurate, consistent and reach target audiences with impact. We are looking for someone that can help develop unique and compelling visual content that will be shared to a wide audience. In this role, the selected candidate will also be expected to:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the MS Creative Services Team.
  • Oversee and manage graphic design, publications, proposals, reports and print services to internal and external customers.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction as a top priority.
  • Work multiple projects, perform to tight deadlines, be attentive to details and possess solid communication, design and time management skills.
  • Collaborate with peers across the Creative Operations and Communications Management teams to include participation in respective communities of practice.
  • Manage employee day to day and performance.
  • Remain abreast of state-of-the-art and emerging technologies and techniques in graphic design, and other creative media tools and disciplines supported at the sites.
  • Operate within the defined budget.
  • Ensure strict adherence to operational security requirement.
  • Consult with team and customer to determine appropriate medium, create concepts, plan production.
  • Act as liaison with vendors ensuring scheduling, costs and quality requirements are met.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience in leading communications, marketing and/or advertising teams or a Master's Degree with 6+ years of experience.
  • Experience working in branding, publication design and/or graphic design (i.e. creation of visual content).
  • Experience leading or managing creative teams.
  • Strong creative collaboration and ability to brainstorm with team on design concepts.
  • Strong strategic thinking, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or other liberal arts field.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as the ability to effectively interface with and influence all levels of management.
  • Ability to support and enhance strong communications standards, workflows and branding guidelines.
  • Excellent project and team management skills.
  • Inquisitive, disciplined, intelligent, confident and flexible.
  • Affinity for developing relationships with high level officials and/or industry leaders.
  • Budget management experience.

Salary Range: $102,900 USD - $154,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
